Ben Darrington

Ben Darrington (bass)

Ben Darrington was educated at Standish Community High School, St John Rigby College, Wigan and Liverpool Hope University where he attained a BA (Hons) degree in Drama and Theatre Studies with Psychology. While at John Rigby College he discovered a love for the bass guitar.

Ben was a member of Wigan Schools Swing Band and Wigan Youth Big Band for three years and is now the bass player for the award winning Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra. He has recently toured Northern Spain and will perform in Angers, France in August later this year. With Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra he is currently working on their next CD recording ‘On a Mission’ (to be confirmed). He has also worked with Eric Delaney and in July of this year will perform with Dennis Rollins at the Wigan International Jazz Festival.

Ben was a member of Willpower Theatre Company for thirteen years and while there performed in a number of shows and professional plays. He also gained passes from London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) grades four, five, six and eight. He regularly appears as an ‘extra’ in Mersey Television’s ‘Hollyoaks’. Ben is the newest member of “Pearl Jazz”.
